If you have been a long term employer in South Western Ontario you may have noticed that the 'Labour Market' has changed or maybe you haven't noticed as of yet!
The unemployment rate in Ontario is the lowest it has been in 9 years and therefore there are not as many people available for work. Employee compensation including benefits is becoming more competitive to attract and retain employees. Recruiters and Headhunters are luring employees through Linked In and other methods and offering higher wages to attract 'star' employees and employees with specific sought after skills. How do I know this? I have worked at companies where they 'headhunt' through 'LinkedIn' and I have been 'Headhunted' through 'LinkedIn'.

One more small thing.... Bill 148: Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act. This is a large piece of legislation which is covered softly in my newsletter and if it is passed we will be holding workshops on this legislation.
